The 2005 AZ Duel in the Desert Trials is in the records books.

The mornings were a cool 70 degrees and still.

The dry air heated up quickly to reach 100+ degrees and breezy in the afternoons.

47 archers took part including 4 collegiate and 14 JOADs.

The event was a two day FITA and hosted many notables in USA archery including:

Olympian and Jr World Outdoor team member: Kendra Harvey

World Indoor Team and Jr World Outdoor team member: Amanda Nichols

Olympian and World team member; Jennifer Nichols

US Open Champion and World team member: Guy Krueger

Stephanie Girard from eastern Canada, also competed.

The Sun Devil Archers led by team leader Kari Granville hosted the tournament.

The tournament ran very smoothly with only 6 arrow calls and one equipment failure over two days.

Sun Devil Archery offered grilled hot dog and hamburgers for lunch which was a big hit.

The results were compiled and award and recognition presented in record time.

The team was also quickly announced and Arizona Collegiate and JOADs continued to be a big part of the AZ team.

JOADs were given medals and small certificates, seniors were given small certificates.

The big prize is being named to the 2005 Duel in the Desert Team.
