Aug. 21, 2003

Two AZJOADs Repeat

Lindsay Pian, Cadet Recurve  and  Aprilyn Witt, Junior Compound

Aprilyn Witt and Lindsay Pian have earned positions on the 2004 Jr. US Archery Team.

It is the second year in a row for both of these AZJOADs.

To make the team, Jr. USAT hopefuls were required to compete in three of the four Jr USAT qualifying tournaments through out the 2003 season.

Lindsay Pian finished in first place for cadet recurve team standing.

Aprilyn Witt adds the 2004 Jr USAT junior compound membership to her accomplishment of earning a spot on the US Jr. World Indoor Team and winning Team Gold in Nimes, France,

This year there are 23 members on the 2004 Jr USAT.  In addition to tournament finish ranking, Jr. USAT hopefuls were required to run a 12 minute fitness test and achieve a predetermined qualifying score.

Arizona’s JOAD did very well as a whole…

·         Brandon Hunt finish in 6th place in the Junior Compound Division, just one place out of JrUSAT placement.

·         Brady Ellison finished in 4th place nationwide in the Cadet Compound Division.

·         Maggie Huff competed in only two JrUSAT events and still earned a 10th place national ranking for Cadet Recurve.
