Arizona JOADs, who
can shoot senior distances, have the unique opportunity every year
to compete in a major international archery tournament right here in
Arizona.
They are able to
shoot with national and world champions as well as archers from
around the globe. The tournament is a US Archery team qualifying
tournament and attracts the countries best. Juniors from around the
world also take part, this year traveling from Canada and Poland.
The Arizona Cup
averages over 200 FITA style archers per year. The tournament takes
place on the same field as the State Championship the weekend prior
allowing the JOADs to compete in familiar territory.
The Arizona JOADs
all did very with all finishing in the 20s and some finishing in the
top 10.
Not bad for
Juniors and Cadets competing against Seniors.
