Take part in
Arizona’s Fall-Winter-Indoor-Outdoor Tournament season!
Arizona Duel in the Desert Trials and Duel in the Desert:
The Arizona Duel in
the Desert Trials, October 1-2, 2005 at the Ben Avery FITA range
will select the Arizona Duel in the Desert Team.

The Arizona team
consists of 6 recurve senior men, 6 recurve senior women, 4 compound
senior men, 4 compound senior women, and one junior in each junior
category, Jr. recurve male, Jr. recurve female, Jr. compound male
and Jr. compound female.
The highest
finisher(s) in each category earn spot in the AZ Duel team.
Note that Masters,
Barebows and JOADs are welcome to try out for the team or compete in
their own categories.
Members will
receive a team shirt and have their entry fee paid by the ASAA to
compete in the Duel in the Desert.
Team members are
responsible for their travel to the Duel including lodging.
This year the Duel
will be in California on the LA Olympic Archery Field in Long Beach,
November 5-6, 2005.
(Next year the Duel
is schedule to take place in AZ)
Those that don’t
think that they “are ready” should consider taking part in this Star
FITA for the experience and enjoyment.
Sometimes there are
not enough competitors in a category and all that compete make the
team.
Those that don’t
make the team should consider taking part in the Duel in the Desert
itself.

It is an open
tournament and it always nice to shoot on the lush lawn of the
Olympic field.
Its only a 6 to 8
hour drive from Phoenix to Long Beach.
Most drive out
Friday afternoon, compete in the 2 day FITA on Saturday and Sunday
and drive back Sunday evening to be back in time for school and work
on Monday.
Fall Fling FITA (Outdoor):
If you are going to
take part in the Duel or just want to “Fling” arrows in the
beautiful October weather take part in the Fall Fling FITA, October
22, 2005 at the Papago Park Archery Range.

Thorny Pumpkin (Indoor):
The indoor 18 meter
season starts off in a big way with the 2nd annual Thorny
Pumpkin Vegas style money shoot hosted by Straight N Arrow, Phoenix,
October 29th, 2005.

ABFAA International Round (Outdoor):
This is interesting
way try field archery on a “FITA” field.
Time and location
are pending, but the tournament usually takes place in November.

Iron Archer Series (Indoor):

The Iron archer is
a series of three 18 meter, indoor 600 rounds.
The archer with the
two best 600 round scores will be crowned the Iron Archer.
Registration

By the time the
Iron Archer is finished you will be on your way to being well
prepared for Vegas and the State and National Indoor Championships
in early 2006.
…then is 2006 and
the Indoor Championship season and then back to outdoors.
