The Arizona Cup (a USAT qualifier) is scheduled for April 5th-8th... so come out a couple of days early and get to know the ASU-Tempe campus and our program. Become a NAA judge:

Judges are needed for the 2006 tournament season

  • AZ JOAD Indoor Championship

  • ASAA Indoor Championship

  • ASAA Outdoor Championship

  • AZ JOAD Outdoor Championship and elsewhere

Family members and friends of archers that want to help are ideal judges.

Most importantly, judges allow our state to host quality events for the archery community.

Becoming a judge is easy and "on the job training" is provided.

Contact Bob Pian at azjoad@cox.net  to find out more about becoming a judge.

FITA Indoor scoring on a three spot?

What happens when you shoot too many arrows or more than one arrow into the same “spot” of an individual archer multi-spot target?

This sketch show you how several different FITA indoor tournament conditions are scored:   3 Spot Scoring Guidelines Sketch

 FITA Rule Book #3 Scoring:

8.6.2.2 If more than three arrows belonging to the same athlete (or team

member) or nine in the case of a team, should be found in the

target butt or on the floor near the target butt or in the shooting

lanes, only the three (nine) lowest in value will be scored. Athletes

(or teams) found to repeat this offence may be disqualified.

8.6.2.3 When triple faces are used, arrows may be shot in any order, but

if more than one arrow is shot into the same scoring area, both

(or all) arrows count as part of that end, but only the lowest

value arrow will score. The other arrow, or arrows, in the same

spot will be scored as a miss, or as misses. Any arrow missing

the outermost blue six (6) zone will be scored as a miss.

Cavalier Archery and Sun Devil Archery at Arizona State University are joining forces to bring you the "Archers Personal Scorebook."

*Keep track of practice and tournament shooting
*Track arrows
*Document your shooting progress

The inserts for these books are 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, so they are large enough for you to get a true visual sense of your shooting without over loading you at the field.

The book itself comes with a nifty cover and 50 pages of general practice/tournament double-sided pages (GREAT for FITA distances). The cost is $10 per book. Pictures can be seen at www.sundevilarchery.com

Replacement pages can be purchased in lots of 100 for an additional $10 each. We have the original general practice/tournament pages as well as 18m and 70m specific folios. Our mixed pack includes 30 pages of each for a cost of $12.

Thanks to the generosity of the folks at Cavalier, ALL proceeds from the sales of these books will go to support the Sun Devil Archery team!

To purchase a book (or 10), send your request to sundevilarchery@yahoo.com

Place "Archers Personal Scorebook Order" on the Subject line. Then, in the body of the message, just tell us how many you would like. We will calculate shipping and send you an invoice for payment. You can send us your money directly or use PayPal for secure credit card transactions. It's just that easy.
